Private Housing – Portsmouth

Challenge
Planners required a product that would meet appearance needed and the budget
Solution
Lothian 145
Location
Portsmouth, Hampshire
Developer
Dandara

Background

Dandara worked closely with leading roof tile manufacturer Russell Roof Tiles to achieve a concrete roofing solution that was in keeping with the desired aesthetic of the planners, sympathetic to the local area, and met the budget.

The former Drayton Dairy site is a brownfield site comprising two-and-a-half hectares. The new housing development contains 67% homes of three/ four bedrooms – a rarity in the area. This project has a total of 108 homes, 32 of which are affordable homes.

Solution

The Lothian 145 tile in Slate Grey and Terracotta provided the correct aesthetic look for the planners.

Lothian 145 tiles are part of Russell Roof Tiles’ expanding Natural range offering developers a cost-effective option – using large tiles to create a smaller tile format appearance. The Lothian 145 tiles provide a long-lasting alternative and are easier to install, offering a hidden interlock, and maintaining the appearance of natural materials.
