Challenge:
Provide a reliable roofing solution for a garden city scheme
Solution
Lothian in Cottage Red
Location
Waterlooville, Hampshire
Developer
Bloor Homes

Background
Berkshire-based housing developer Bloor Homes is constructing housing for the first phase of the £35m Berewood ‘garden city’ development in Waterlooville. The aim of the scheme, which integrates urban living with green spaces, is to create a self-sufficient, sustainable community combining the benefits of metropolitan and rural living while avoiding the problems of overcrowded cities or isolated countryside.
Solution
Bloor Homes needed a roofing solution that would provide the desired aesthetic while taking its budget into account. Russell Roof Tiles supplied its Lothian Tiles in Cottage Red for the project. The tile, which is a cost-effective solution, has a mock joint and hidden interlock creating a natural clay-like appearance, allowing Bloor to keep to budget and achieve the sought-after look.
