A new Garden Village is using concrete pitched roof tiles to perfectly recreate a classic village feel. Russell Roof Tiles (RRT), is working with Bellway Homes, one of the UK’s largest house builders on a new housing development in Yate, South Gloucestershire.
The 247-home development at Ladden Garden Village has been designed around the principles of a traditional English village, with green open spaces, sports pitches and playgrounds.
The Artisan Collection from Bellway are designed to be a seamless extension of the interior, with each roof a key architectural focal point.
With this brief and design in mind, the Russell Roof Tiles team worked collaboratively with Bellway to provide expertise and technical specification information, as well as offering peace of mind that the RRT roofing solution would perform for years to come.
The Grampian tile from RRT commercial range, in slate grey and cottage red were specified by Bellway, providing the aesthetic diversity required for this large-scale development.
The Grampian tile is a popular choice, known for being a versatile and robust product suitable for a wide range of architectural styles and traditions.
Its slate aesthetic is suitable to fit the architectural vernaculars associated with the traditional English village but with a modern look, which made it the perfect roof tile for the development.
So far, the concrete roof tile system has been successfully installed on 110 homes, with a further 137 still in early development stages. However, the construction of new homes at Ladden Garden Village is proceeding at a rapid pace with more than a third of the private homes having been sold and 28 having just been handed over to Bromford housing association.

The 2, 3, and 4-bedroom homes in Ladden Garden Village will form part of a stunning new community, with schools, shops, and amenities also under construction.
