Lothian Picked For New Housing Development

David Wilson Homes, part of the Barratt Developments Plc Group, is the nation’s largest property development company and has recently specified Russell Roof Tiles (RRT) to build over one-hundred homes on a development called Needingworth Park, in St Ives, Cambridgeshire.

This is the first project for RRT working in partnership with Bailey MK, a commercial and domestic building service, who specialise in pitched roofing services and construction.

Set just outside the busy town of St Ives, the scenic village development offers 3, 4, and 5 bedroom detached homes. Almost 50 per cent of the homes are already sold as they enter their final phase of building.

The developers wanted to keep the homes in keeping with the established natural environment, that offers both privacy and green spaces. RRT were specified for the project as their selection of pitched roof tiles were most in keeping with the local aesthetic.

The RRT Lothian in peat brown and slate grey were selected from the natural range of products. The Lothian is a thinner leading-edge tile that has a mock joint and hidden interlock. This means that the tile has a better visual appeal and is easier for roofers to fit. The slate appearance and small tile format offers great commercial benefits for a concrete tile.

The roof tile manufacturer provides reliable and top-quality roof tiles for housing and produces concrete tiles that replicate the appearance of natural looking roof tiles to fit with the surroundings and styles of local areas. Russell Roof Tiles offer benefits of greater strength and a long guarantee if fitted with all Russell Roof Tiles components. This allows for the developer to rely on consistent quality product that withstands years of variations of weather and wear and tear.

James Pendleton, Regional Director for Midlands and South at Russell Roof Tiles said: “We’re pleased to have been chosen as the go-to company for this David Wilson Homes development in Cambridgeshire. It is also great that we can now announce that we are working in partnership with Bailey MK.”

David Wilson Homes commercial manager, Daniel McDonald, said: “We were delighted to have chosen to use Russell Roof Tiles on our Needingworth Park. The quality of their product added significantly to the impact of the overall build, which is why we chose to install Russell Roof Tiles full systems on a selection of our homes.”

Russell Roof Tiles provides roofing solutions for leading UK house builders and high-profile social housing and commercial projects, where sustainability and eco-credentials are of the utmost priority.

The manufacturer recognises that as a leading sector player, the company has a responsibility to perform an important role in supporting the UK’s transition to Net-Zero and has set a clear roadmap to define specific objectives that will minimise its contribution to climate change and impact on the planet.
