Russell Roof Tiles Scouts Out New Roof for Community

Leading concrete roof tile manufacturer, Russell Roof Tiles (RRT), is proud to have donated materials to assist housebuilder, Wain Homes, with the renovation of South Cerney Scout Hut.

Wain Homes, the builder behind the Saxon Meadows local housing development in the area, approached Russell Roof Tiles to help with the Scout Hut’s roof. Having worked together for many years, Russell Roof Tiles was the natural choice for supplying the materials.

Russell Roof Tiles, which has two sites in Burton and a further site in Lochmaben, were again called upon for support, but to uniquely assist in supplying materials for a local Scout Hut, that was in need of some TLC.

The product specified for the project was from Russell Roof Tiles’ Commercial range, Grampian tiles in Slate Grey. The Grampian tile is a standard flat interlocking roof tile laid half broken bonded. It provides the traditional appearance of slate and clay tiles with the security of an interlocking design and with the commercial benefits of concrete, so will wear well, whilst fitting in with the surrounding area and aesthetic.

“We have developed a close relationship with Wain Homes over the years, having been specified for the majority of their recent housing projects,” said Rhodri Jones, Sales Executive at Russell Roof Tiles. “We were delighted to help out with the reroofing project at the Scout Hut, and to show support for Wain Homes and the local community.”

By donating these materials, Russell Roof Tiles has played a crucial role in restoring the well-loved Scout Hut, ensuring it can continue serving the community for many more years.

Nick Carey, Commercial Director at Wain Homes Severn Valley added: “We’re incredibly grateful to Russell Roof Tiles and their team for supplying us with their products to reroof such an important hub within our community. The assistance from the team in advising products and services was outstanding, as always, and we really look forward to working with Russell Roof Tiles in the future.”

One of Russell Roof Tiles’ core values is being a good corporate citizen by supporting local communities, causes and charities. Over the past seven years the firm has raised over £168,000, with the support of its customers, partners, and suppliers, helping 38 different charities and causes. It has hosted fundraising events, that have seen staff dance, hike, run, cook, paddle and even slim their way to raise cash. Over the years its Annual Big Quiz and its charity golf tournaments have raised some record-breaking amounts of cash.

This year, through its Community Fund, “Give4Good” the manufacturer is aiming to raise £40,000 for local community organisations.

The successful completion of the project marks another milestone for Russell Roof Tiles, as it continues to solidify its reputation as one of the UK’s leading manufacturers of concrete roof tiles and UPVC accessories.

Russell Roof Tiles provides roofing solutions for leading UK housebuilders and high-profile social housing and commercial projects, where sustainability and eco-credentials are of the utmost priority.
